Stephen Thompson,
Stephen has been our minister at St. Andrew's for just over 9 years. Prior to that, he ministered for 10 years in a church in a small town in Ontario. Stephen is married to his wife Carolyn and together they have four children: Mark, Sarah, David and Jason. It was over 20 years ago that Stephen and Carolyn both experienced a deep sense of calling to minister on PEI. They love living on the
island and are very excited about all that God is doing in and through St. Andrew's.
Stephen was not always a Christian believer. As a teenager, he was a drug addicted youth living on the streets of Toronto. His only goal in life at that time, was to feed his addiction which caused him to spiral out of control with ever increasing measure. The emptiness and the loneliness he experienced in the midst of it became more and more unbearable until one day everything changed. He had an encounter with God that completely transformed his life. From that time on, he knew that he had to become either a missionary or a minister. After a short term mission trip, Stephen returned home with the full realization that he was called to become a minister.
After attaining his B.A. and his M.Div. he was ordained at St. Peter's Presbyterian Church in Madoc,
Ontario. Now ministering among us here at St. Andrew's, Stephen has an incredible desire to see more and more
people truly experience God's love, peace and joy in the midst of their daily lives.
